My Story

Chunky is a 1-year-old, red male with natural ears and a cropped tail.
Chunky’s journey to the shelter started with a bit of a rough patch. He found himself in need of a new home after not meshing with the other male dog in his previous family. But fear not, because Chunky has been busy melting hearts at the shelter ever since!
Though he started off a bit shy, Chunky has blossomed into a confident canine with the help of our dedicated staff and volunteers. He’s a breeze to walk, knows his manners like a true gentleman (sit, stay, come, and shake included!), and is always up for a game of fetch or a cozy snuggle session with his favorite Kong.
While Chunky has not shown signs of resource guarding food or treats with us, his previous family did state this as an issue. He’s proven to be housebroken and, rumor has it, may even cozy up to your lucky feline friends with a proper introduction. Chunky has experience living harmoniously with children in his previous home, making him the perfect addition to any family.
We’re putting out a call to all rescuers to help us find the perfect forever home for Chunky.
Chunky is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is located at the Calvert County MD Animal Shelter.
