Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

Received check for $78,650 in the mail from a scammer claiming that I won the Whole Regions Lotto. The check looked authentic, but the letter it came with was a poor photocopy. They asked me to go the walmart pay center to pay them a tax and processing fee. I found out that this was not a legal or legitimate lottery. So I did not deposit the check. Instead I reported the mail to the Post Office Inspector General.
