Type of a scam Tech Support

Received an email from US Technologies stating they were going to auto renew my account with their services on 5/15/2020. I called and said I was not renewing anything with them (could not even remember using any such services). They stated they owed me a refund and would put it in my bank account. My account showed they had put in too much and wanted their money back. I lost a total of $3030.00 (I was an [censored] because it felt like a scam) sent it back in gift cards (that’s how they requested it) and they took my money. They were telling me they were holding my computer and internet as hostage until I paid back the money. When I checked my bank account the money was gone. The next day I got a call from the same scanner trying to get more money, and he was swearing it was not a scam. He has a strong Indian accent and was going my the name of Eric.
