Type of a scam Employment

I was contacted about employment thru my personal text. Then she instructed me to go to Google Hangout (***) to text back and for the job interview. It seemed fishy because this company did not want to talk over phone or set up personal interview. At $** an hour, any company would want to meet with a prospective employee. They didn’t get any money from me, but the TN State employee office had heard of this,and other people had to buy the computer equipment to work with at home. I was very excited about the possiblility of a job. But was very let down when I heard this was a scam.
