Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Someone contacted me on Craiglist to ask about the condition of an item, but used no specific details. They offered to buy the item without coming out to see it and said they would send a cashier’s check through the mail. After the check cleared they would arrange for movers to pick up the item. They asked for my name, cell phone number, and address.
From what I’ve found online, the check they send you will clear, but will then be flagged as fraudulent several days later
