My Story

This gorgeous girl, Tika, is a Chesador (half Chesapeake and half Labrador). She is just over a year old and looking for her forever family.
Tika has lots of energy, so we are seeking an active family who can provide her with the physical exercise she loves. She absolutely loves to fetch ball as long as the day is long and she thoroughly enjoys nose work! She is very smart, likes to learn, and knows her basic commands. She would do best in a home that has space and a good fence. She is loyal, though, and will want to be with you; she is not a runner. Tika still needs some leash work, as she was previously living on property with lots of space to run and leash walking was not a priority.
Tika has a very sweet temperament, and she LOVES kids.
After being moved to a first foster home, we learned that she was too interested in chasing the kitties, so we are seeking a home with no cats. She did live around a couple of cats in her first home without any incidents, so we don’t know why, but we always seek to set the animals up for success. She also lived with other dogs in her first home without any issues, but after being in the first foster home with us, we learned that she can be dog-selective right now. We don’t know if this is temporary, or if she will always be that way. However, when she likes a dog, she really likes the dog (as you can see here in the photo, greeting her neighbor dog as she goes by on her daily walk) We have to laugh, because she seems to like Labradors the best! (haha) In addition to the labs, she does do best with a dog that is more submissive.
Tika is a beautiful, sweet, and smart girl with a whole life ahead of her. She is an amazing dog with so much to offer a family.
