Type of a scam Tech Support

I was working on my laptop and something popped up stating that there was suspicious activity and I needed to call the technical support team and they gave me a number to call. When I called I spoke with a man named Edward and he told me that I had over 300 viruses on my computer coming from Russia and that’s why it was going slow and I needed to get it cleaned. He told me I should be getting it cleaned every 30 days. He then was doing different stuff to my laptop from his end allegedly trying to get rid of the viruses. He then typed up an agreement stating that I can pay a one time fee of $200 and somebody would contact me every month and clean my computer. I told him I could not pay that and that I would have to speak with my husband and he would get back to him. He got upset and started telling me I had to pay it because if I didn’t I was going to lose all information on my computer. he asked me about 5 or 6 times if I bought stuff from my computer and I kept telling him no that I only use it for school work. He gave me the number to call him back. I finally was able to get off the phone with him when I tried to call the number back it was busy.
