I got a notice on my cell cellphone saying my phone has a virus and I need to call Apple tech support for assistance. I called the number and he told me my phone had been hacked and that there were things I needed to do with his help to avoid them possibly having access to my bank accounts social media and all passwords currently on my phone. He had me download an App then “[email protected] me to a security department that would fix my issue. Another person got on the line and he told me I needed to open my banking app and he would get me a Venmo Securoty wallet to keep my money safe from these Russian Hackers. I asked if I could just go to the Apple store and have them help me with this issue because I was not comfortable doing what he was asking. He kept telling me I needed to act quickly

before I ended up with major problems. He told me neither the Apple store or TMobile would be able to help me I asked him if he worked for Apple he said yes I was panicked by the notice I received on my phone but thankfully I was not feeling confident in what these people were saying to me and did not open any of my apps for them or move money which I now realize they would now have I worry about someone else believing them and taking a huge loss

I disconnected my phone call and deleted the app they asked me to download I am still so nervous and worried about what happened and what could have happened I am positive that these people are very successful in what they are doing. Stealing peoples money and personal information and still worry that I may be at risk still just by downloading the app and speaking with them for the time I did Everyday I check all my accounts hoping nothing has been taken and worry they might have gotten some info from me and my phone that will haunt and hurt me for years I am still not confident that I will not be dealing with some kind of fallout from this experience

Within 24hrs of reporting 1st tech scam, I received a 2nd scam e-mail which I did not respond to. This one stated I had ordered Microsoft Surface Pro which I did not. They only want to have access to my laptop so I did not contact them. One thing I noticed is the e-mail does not have an official company name and there was not a Microsoft logo on the e-mail. I dislike the time spent dealing with them to assure no order was placed.These people are irritating.

This company tried to bill me $499.99 for Defender Antivirus software I did not purchase. When I called to cancel the order the man on the line was insisted he needed access to my laptop to cancel the order. I refused to give him access and he became very insistent about needing access to my laptop to cancel the order; I refused. He became irritated and hurriedly hung up the phone. I have no billing activity in my checking account; they do not have any private info or $ from me. After getting a new ATT router, we needed to reconfigure our Echo Dot (Alexa) to work with the router. I clicked on what looked like an Amazon support link and a popup then said tech support would call and asked for phone number. Scammer tech called and talked me into giving access to computer. He asked about virus software and showed a screen of things on my computer that were compromised. I didn’t realize I had been scammed until he asked for credit card to pay for virus protection. At that point I shut down. Even though we changed passwords, our Amazon account was hacked and gift cards ordered. We managed to get that order cancelled and changed credit cards. Later we found more gift cards in our Amazon cart but removed them in time. The Amazon cards in the cart were being directed to an e-mail address [email protected] Hacker had a middle eastern accent, not uncommon for tech support, put claimed a last name like Williams. Haven’t lost money yet, but attempts keep coming.

The texts read: This is in regards to inform you we are going to update your subscription and you will be charged $314.87 from your card within 24 hours , contact (818) 273-7573 to cancel subscription.

So I called,

They say they have to cancel my Norton security on my computer subscription or I will be charge. They do it by taking over your computer. They pull some information and it show the last 4 numbers and the expiration date of a credit card but no name on the card. And if it’s not right you put your credit card number and they say they would cancel it and give you a refund of $230.

A year ago I turned on my computer and this loud siren appeared, call this number and we can take it off and provide you further protection (at 30.00 per month. They wanted a check in payment which I would not give them. I did give them a credit card. Next they called me at least 4 times a day saying they have to close the service and want to refund my money. Of course all I have to do is provide a routing number so they can deposit it directly-no way. Now they are still calling to renew my subscription, I tell them I do not want it so cancel my subscription. They tell me that in order to cancel I have to allow access to my computer-no way I say. OK he says then you will be charged 30.00 per month. I tell them I will call Chase and deny the charge. So far I have changed all my credit cards, put a fraud alert on my Experian account, changed all my passwords. I would like this snake to return to the hole he came from. Now I am expecting a bill by mail, if that happens at least I have a paper trail. and I can block the zip code (I think)

These people say they are collecting for computer help. I never hired any one to help fix a computer. They then called and said the co. had gone bankrupt and they would like to refund money. The next step would be to probably get your bank account.

They call me several times a day every day. Now they are using my own number to call me as I am calling myself.

"Support" link popped up on the computer for viruses. Consumer signed up, and later received a call from them offering to refund the money because the license for the business expired. All they needed was a bank number to transfer the money to. Consumer refused, and then they told her to go to the store and get $1500 in gift cards. Scammer locked down their computer until they did so.

I received a voicemail from a male stating that I had a computer service agreement in the amount of $299.00 that I agreed to 2 years ago, and that if I didn’t pay it, I would be billed the $299.00. I said I wanted to cancel, but then, the person asked for personal information. He said if I didn’t cancel, that I would be charged. I Know there isn’t anything that needs to be canceled because I never signed up for anything.

Then he goes on to tell me that I owe 675dollars then from there told me I owe two more hundred to keep my serves. So they as me to type the numbers on the phone but I type them wrong so he got up set then he said I needed to go to Wal-Mart n get two cards n load 500 each n give him the number so I can pay them then when I look he was trying to run that amount in my checking which is on file.. So I calle d my bank and stop payment but the bank had stop it already.

First call, a service I had ordered (which I did not) and a few days later, both from 844-563-5666. A few days later, same message, 855-916-6111. Someone is trying to get my account number and phone number. Sit in front of the computer and call this number 844-520-6222, they will tell me what to do. I have not as yet taken the number off my phone if this is all you need please let me know so I can take the calls off my phone. Mostly the same voice, not native American, middle age woman. I am tired of calls. Also I get calls from Not Available. So I am also not available so I do not answer.

I am reporting that on 3/27/19 I received 3 calls from the same phone number claiming that I have some kind of computer service and explaining that they are now out of business. They requested that to receive my refund I will need to call them at the same number called. I did not answer or return the call. Instead, I blocked that number. The number was 1-315-314-4129. I still have the recordings if you have any interest. I hope no one gets this call and calls back as it appears to be a scam/phishing kind of call. It was also a robocall. These people are scamming as Windows computer techs. They are not. Do not get in arguments or tell them to stop calling. They will wait an hour and call back. They seem to think it’s funny. No matter what you say or reason with them, it will not work. It only encourages them to keep calling back.
