Type of a scam Tech Support

The caller introduces themselves with a very Americanized name but the caller always has a very strong Eastern Indian accent. They indicate they are calling from Tech Support of America and say that we are having issues with our Microsoft internet program and that they are calling to help us fix our problem. When I confront them asking for more details they turn me over to a supervisor. The supervisor usually gives me a name I cannot spell or understand and if I ask for a telephone number they will not provide one, in fact, they tell me they do not have a telephone number, RIGHT!, and eventually, they hang-up on me. They have gone as far as stating they are a level 5 technician. I guess that is suppose to impress me. We are getting this call anywhere from every other month to 3 times a month. My husband played along onetime with them and could see that they were trying to gain remote access to our computer. I am greatly concerned as I strongly believe this is a scam. I am not sure where they are calling from but I believe it is outside of America.
