Type of a scam Tech Support

I clicked on a web site that I thought was apple support. They showed an apple symbol but it was dark and not a genuine apple symbol. They promised to help me clean my computer of viruses. I gave them control of my computer to do do this. They told me that for a ten year guarantee the the charge would be 899.99. They had me write a check and took a picture of the the check. They downloaded some anti-virus software I could have gotten for free. I did not feel right about this. I waited for a few days for the check to come through. Then I went to the bank and closed my checking account and opened a new one. I also had the anti-virus they had downloaded erased and a new anti-virus put in at Mirco-Center for $60.00. They never attempted to cash the check. I changed my computer password. Twice someone called from the number 1(344)597-3222. I am nor answering any of their calls. They appear to be trying to harass me to get to my checking account. They said they will keep calling back.
