Total money lost $289

Type of a scam Tech Support

I was scammed when I received a phone call from a male claiming that I had paid for a computer service from this fraudulent company Teamviewer. He said that they were calling to refund me money into my account for a computer repair. He told me to set up remote control system into my computer so that he could deposit the money into my account. After he setup the remote control service, he said that he had to discuss the refund amount with a fellow employee. He proceeded to deposit (or at least appear to deposit 289.00 into my account). But when the phone call ended I noticed that the money mysteriously disappeared from my savings account. My concern is that he has my account number, or was able to compromise my login information. I want to press charges against them or incorporate a lawsuit in order to stop them from scamming anyone else. I am a disabled male and I want to pursue any measures possible to make sure that they cannot scam anyone else.

Received calls from 760-985-6325 and 760-459-4394, supposedly a company called Teamviewer claiming that they could not complete the remote computer assistance service consumer paid $500 for in the past, and wanted to refund $250. I did purchase remote assistance service in the past, which I paid $500 for with my credit card under different name.

I asked why they could not just credit back to the original form of payment. They said the amount is less than $1,000 and is too small for check refund, per some sot of federal regulation and ScamPulse.com guidance, which is a false statement.

They had me go to Teamviewer website to fill out a form for refund. I only gave my name and address, but refused login information and my banking information. I terminated the call and shut down the computer. I cannot turn the computer back on now.
