Type of a scam Rental

While I was still living in MA, but was soon moving to the San Francisco Bay area, I replied to a Craigslist ad for a furnished rental in El Cerrito, CA. I was asked to wire rent (3 months at $1750/month), security deposit ($1500) and monthly cleaning fees (3 months at $204/month) to the "landlord’s" Bank of America checking account in order to secure the rental from Dec 1, 2016 through Feb 28, 2017. Was told that I would be sent documents verifying that I had leased the cottage for this time period. Never received any documents and "landlord" no longer replies to my attempts to contact him.
