Type of a scam Employment

Received a priority letter via USPS with an address shipped from Puerto Rico. Letter included a $2900 check – advising $400 was for me and the remaining $2500 was to be used to purchase Google Play cards.

I was then texted by the "company" stating they have confirmation my letter & check was received and asking how quickly could I begin my assignment. They wanted me to deposit the check purchase cards and then send them pictures of the the front and back of each card and await my next assignment (meaning while I’m waiting the check would never clear and the cards would be used as i’m providing them with the card numbers.
