Type of a scam Tech Support

The caller said his name was Edward & he was calling to give me a refund on soft ware that I had purchased. I was suspicious right away but I let him go on. First he said he had to remove the software . He said he was working on my computer & he made some noises that sounded strange & then I heard him talking to someone in the background . I heard him say (" I got her.") I know for sure it was ,a scam. Somehow he got into my bank account & he showed a refund of $3,000 not $300. and he said "oh my God". I hung up right away and called my bank & told them to freeze my accounts. They took 3000 out of my checking & put it in savings. This happened to me several months ago but I got all my money back before they used it. I changed all my accounts that day, but 3 days later I got an error warning on my computer and microsoft had to fix it.
