Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan

I am a representative of SmartAsset.com, a financial technology website that offer advice on big financial decisions. It was brought to our attention in the last couple weeks that a company operating under a very similar name to ours is scamming people. The company in question goes by Smart Asset Management and Smart Asset Loans. From what I know they are reaching out to people via email and phone telling them that they have qualified for a loan and need to pay an upfront fee in order to receive the loan. I don’t know how many people have been contacted r home much money they have scammed people out of.
