I received a call on my home phone from a man claiming to be calling from Shellpoint Mortage. He had a very heavy foreign accent. He said that my account was behind and I owed money for taxes or else my home would be foreclosed. He was very demanding that he needed my bank account information so that the payment could be received before end of business or else my home would go into foreclosure. Luckily I knew better and did not give him my information. I ended the call and contacted Shellpoint Mortgage, the representative I have been working with for several months now. The rep said my account is in good standing. I found it odd because I always call Shellpoint on my cell phone and that’s how they call me. This man called me on my home phone and used the name Gary Smith.
