Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan

The scammer hacked a friend’s Facebook and used their account to make me believe they were a legit agent of a well know program, the Hope program. He then proceeded to say I only needed to send $25 using an iTunes gift card (I would not give my checking account information) and that that would be all I needed to be qualified for $21,000. After sending the information I was told I’d be contacted the next day, I went to contact my friend on the great news and she no longer was receiving my messages. He said if I paid the 1% fee I’d get the money, than it was you qualify to only pay $25-50. Worried it was a scam I would message my friend and she would reassure me as soon as the messaging stopped after sending the info I knew something was wrong. I informed her sister who informed me that my friend had no way to access get messenger and that they couldn’t figure out why. There scammer used both text message and email to contact me to make it seem legit.
