Type of a scam Online Purchase

Purchase of a puppy for 550. Website had pictures to choose from made selection. Sent partial payment of 350. In exchange we recd an electronic contract that we had to agree to. After returning contract they requested it to follow with the additional payment of 200.

We sent $350.00 dollars initially as per thier request with rhe balance of $200 to follow after we returned the contract for the dog signed.  They responded that they would ship the dog within 24 hours after the recipient of the second.payment. we were never able to talk to them by phone. We never heard from them again.   We did get a call from the frieght company that the fee for.shipping would be $850 to build a crate for shipping. We told the shipper that was included in.the price as per the contract and he would have to work that out with schnauzercorner.   

Our bank called later that the second  $200 payment using zelle has been returned back to our account.
