Type of a scam Government Grant

This scam started with a very close friend of mine from my home state of Michigan contacting me through Facebook Messenger. She was excited to tell me that she had been awarded a very large sum of money through a federal grant program. Then gave me a link to the home page of Julia Ann Pierson. All I had to do was send a friend request to start the application process. Once I was qualified by answering some basic information, I was asked to pay a processing fee. Then another fee. That is when I became alarmed. They used photos and information from the actual Ms. Pierson’s Wikipedia page to make it all look official.
