Type of a scam Tech Support

5/17/19: Received a message from 800-228-6713 stating that my credit card would be charged $699 for Microsoft Windows Support if I did not call 712-485-7255 (Neola, Iowa) immediately.

In my defense, I responded to this message ONLY because I have an online computer tech support service that is active through 12-Oct-22 and I was concerned that I was being charged erroneously for a service I had already paid for.

Once I called the Iowa number, I allowed "remote access" to my computer by RYAN DAVIS. He used a free Download of Team Viewer. It became clear very early that this was a scam as the conversation went from me trying to clarify what the "$699 charge" was for with RYAN DAVIS to me being transferred to BRAD in accounting who then tried to get me to sign into my BANK ACCOUNT so that he could REFUND $199!

When I told him in no uncertain terms that that was NOT going to happen, he said that "my credit card would continue to be charged $699/month until the refund was completed through online Banking Access". By this time, I KNEW there was no way they had my credit card information, so I told Brad…"good luck with that" and hung up.

After I ended the call, I went into my computer programs and found the newly installed Team Viewer program which I immediately uninstalled.

Today I had my computer looked at by a Geek Squad IT expert and he found nothing else had been installed on my computer and it was safe to use.
