Computer driven, repeated calls. If you call back, you are given the option to add your number to a "do not call list" This does nothing as calls will continue – as often as every 10 minutes. If you pick up, there may or may not be a voice at the other end. If there is a voice, they indicate that they "are calling long distance and ask if you can hear them?" They are trying to get you to say "Yes" – which they will record. They will then potentially later use this affirmative recording to commit fraud on your behalf.
