A sales representative young, female of color came to our door offering magazine subscriptions and said that she “had made some bad choices“ but was trying to get work experience by being a door-to-door salesman.
She sold me a magazine subscription for Atlantic monthly and gave me a receipt, But later that month I got a letter from PS Circulation saying they would like to switch my subscription to other magazines ( junk that I never would have wanted )
I replied in writing and they have not refunded my initial purchase more than six months later.

Two young African American women came to my door requesting that I purchase magazines to help young women and children attain education. They stated that the magazines were to be a gift to women at the Women’s Shelter in Santa Monica. She had a book with typed information about the different magazines that would be given to the women and different levels of donations that could be given. The company name on the receipt was PS Circulation. I looked them up on your website and they received an F rating for not following through on delivering the magazines. I am notifying the Santa Monica police and my neighbors about the encounter because the saleswoman also asked a lot of questions about whether I know my neighbors and whether I work a lot of hours. There are other websites that report that the magazine sales company is only the tip of the iceberg – the sales people may also be collecting information for future robberies. The saleswoman offered that the order could be cancelled within 3 days. The sales receipt indicated the same, and that Saturday counted as a business day. The phone number for cancellation says to fax your request. No one answered the phone even though I called during business hours. I cancelled the check with my bank.
