Type of a scam Phishing

We received a call from 403-168-7441 from "Brandon" who was representing http://policenewsmagazine.com/ on Feb 11 2016. They claimed to be a published magazine available in waiting rooms and police stations which focuses on trying to apprehend criminals who are dropped off mainstream media. Branden wanted to sell a 1/4 page ad in the publication and directed me to their website. I became suspicious when I clicked on the magazine and saw that it was just a mock up (high alert when I read the link "you can publish too") When I investigated further, there are a number of links warning of this scam: http://komcpc.com/possible-scam-alert-police-news-magazine-advertising/
