Type of a scam Online Purchase

I supposedly bought a puppy from James Walsh (763-307-4139) for $500. He then took the puppy to Pets En Route Express to set up delivery to me. I spoke with a representative of Pets En Route Express on the 22nd of May and a delivery date of 5-24-18 at 3:00 p.m. CST was agreed upon. I received several emails from the Company stating tracking numbers, etc. The second email stated the puppy would not be delivered today due to their needing $975 prepaid as Refundable Insurance as which $877.75 would be refunded upon delivery. I immediately texted Mr. Walsh and was expecting not to hear from him, but he continuously texted me until noon CST and had the Company call me several times to get me to pay the money. I told them in no uncertain terms I would not pay the Insurance as that was not communicated to me. If I had known that I would not have made the deal. You see, I had to put my 11 year old Basset to sleep last month and so wanted another companion, I let good sense go out the window. I felt apprehensive and I should have gone with my first thoughts. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.
