Type of a scam Employment

I got an email from my professor ( later on I find out that email was sent from hacked account) email said that they would pay me 250 a week to put a car wrap on my car so I can advertise their company. I said ok. Next week they send me a check for 2950.00 so I can deposit on my account and then take the money off to pay the installers that will come to my address to install that wrap. It was suspicious. Why would you send a check to a person you dont know without signing any papers and give them almost 3 thousand dollars to cash for people that works for them, why through me? When I confronted them, they stopped responding.

The name of the person Frank Anderson. The check came from Timothy Motard and the address on the package was 2801 Network Blvd, suite 300

After I told the guy that I dont have a checking account and I just will go to cash a check he told me they dont work like that and he never respond to any of my questions again. Please stay away from scam like this.
