Type of a scam Utility

The museum I work for received a call this morning (6/10/17) from a company claiming to be Peco Energy. They informed us our power would be shut off at 1:30pm as we hadn’t paid our bill. We were told if we could get a payment to them immediately we could avoid the outage. The tone the caller used was one of expectant annoyance. My supervisors looked into the matter and found our bill had in fact been paid. They contacted the number that had initially called us and spoke to an irate man who had a curious lack of details about our account. A separate Peco number was looked up and called. Peco confirmed the bill had been paid and that the call was a fake.
