Type of a scam Identity Theft

I searched for paypal customer service number, and this website came up on google. I called the number without double checking it. The guy Listened to my problem, then told me to download something online that would allow him to access my computer to help me. I was so innocent that I followed all directions, until I realized what I could do, uninstalled the program and disconnected the phone. I don`t know if he was able to get any information from me, but he asked me to type my login and password. Then I realized what he was trying to do.
