My Story
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION.
7-month-old male small dog mix, about 15 pounds. Paxton is a sweet, fun- loving puppy who is good with cats, dogs, and children. Very food motivated making him easy to train. He caught on to ‘sit’ the first day! We are still working on not having him jump up, but he’s coming along there, too. He has better than average self-awareness (that is, when he’s racing across the yard, he doesn’t typically run into you, like some puppies his age), but is still a goof- ball. He does well on the leash and loves going for walks and checking out the neighborhood. Can be a little reactive/startle to unknown people and sounds but gets past it quickly. Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
