Type of a scam Tech Support

THIS COMPANY HAS A POP UP THAT TELLS YOU THAT YOUR COMPUTER IS BLOCKED THAT YOU MUST DIAL THE NUMBER IN ORDER TO UNBLOCK YOUR NUMBER. THEY CLAIM SOMEONE USED YOUR NUMBER TO COMMIT IDENTITY THEFT. WHEN YOU CALL THEM THEY TELL YOU THAT THEY NEED YOU TO LET THEM ON YOUR COMPUTER IN ORDER TO REMOVED THE DANGEROUS FILES. THEY ASK FOR A CREDIT CARD AND IF THE PERSON LETS THEM ON THE COMPUTER THEY PUT FILES ON THE COMPUTER THAT TRACK INFORMATION. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I USED AN EMPTY SYSTEM AND LET THEM COME ONTO MY SYSTEM. WHEN THEY WERE ON IT .. THEY DID GIVE ME A FEW FREE FILES.. WHICH I COULD OF GOTTEN MYSELF TELLING ME THAT THOSE FILES ARE NEEDED ON MY COMPUTER TO PROTECT ME. THEY ARE NOT .. WHAT THE FILES WERE ANTI VIRUS THAT IS FREE ONLINE. THEY THEN TOLD ME THAT I WOULD NEED TO PAY THEM 299.00 CDN IN ORDER TO HAVE THE DANGEROUS FILES REMOVED FROM MY COMPUTER. ONCE I INFORMED THEM OF MY INTENTIONS TO REPORT THEM. THEY LAUGHED AT ME THINKING I AM ONE PERSON OUT OF MILLIONS THAT NOTHING WOULD BE DONE. THEY CLAIM THEY WORK FOR MICROSOFT.

Received calls several times, latest on 7-26-2019, reporting that computer service needs to be canceled or my account will be charged $299.99 approx. Confusingly further, told me a refund would be processed if I call back at the number as above.

They tried to get more information and I asked for an email to me from them with more information. They declined.

Type of a scam Tech Support

This company has called us multiple times over the past month. We have caller ID and have not answered every time. The few times we did answer, we asked repeatedly to be taken off their call list. Sometimes they call as often as 4 times a day. They claim to be "associated with Microsoft" which we know to be false; Microsoft would not call. The last time I spoke to someone (March 21), I asked to speak to her supervisor and was told "he is busy with his own work." I then told her that if they called again, I would report them to the ScamPulse.com.

Type of a scam Tech Support

A person with an Indian accent called and said they were with (Online Tech Support) and that they had received a message that my computer was receiving errors and warnings that needed to be repaired. She wanted me to turn on my computer and allow her to navigate my computer remotely. She said she was Windows online Tech Support.

Her phone number was 631 674-1690

They called last week. I told them it was a scam and to not call me again. I was on the ‘do not call list’. They called again anyway. Very bold.
