Type of a scam Government Grant

I received a phone call today 04/25/2016 at 11:57 A.M. from an UNKNOWN number and a woman on the other end w/ an accent that sounded of Indian decent. I was having trouble understanding her quite a few times, however after many times of asking her to repeat herself on some of the same things, it appeared to be I was "awarded $9000" in a federal grant that I would NOT have to pay back and could choose to use this money anyway I wanted. I had 2 options of receiving the money.. One was by giving my credit or debit card number to them so they could "deposit" the money into my card OR second option was they could mail me a western union check. She proceeded to tell me my first and last name, phone number, but the address was incorrect. I knew this was a scam anyway, as she said there was a website www.Obama.net and we know that Obama isn’t going to just give out $9000 to people because he feels they could use it. I told her that w/ the advice of my "lawyer" (which was really a family member) that I should not give out any information, and that I would look into the website and get back to her if I needed to. There is a link for College Grants for Single Mothers which sounds so nice… However, it is TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!!
