Type of a scam Debt Collections

NRA Group contacted my husband today stating that he owes (4) payday loans from 2010 and threatened legal action. Stated this was his one attempt to play this debt via pre paid visa or the matter would be scheduled in court and we would be responsible for the debt along with attorney fees and fines, wage garnishment and liens against personal property. The caller had the last 4 digits of social security number, last 4 of bank account number, knew old employer name from 10+ years ago. Argued and was very ugly when we insisted this is not a valid debt and no pay day loan has ever been requested or received. No documentation was provided and we are at a loss how they know our personal information. Representative was very confrontational and rude. This has to be a scam as there is no such loan requested or received.

Received a call at home, both of my sister’s homes and at work from an NRA group threatening legal action and/or wage garnishment for a payday loan from 2008. They would not provide any further information unless I agreed to their settlement amount of around $1100. All calls were from a different number, but all said to call back at 1-800-946-7995 and provided a case number. They then called and stated that I had forfeited my right to settle out of court
