THIS IS THE PHONE MESSAGE: Hello, This is Jennifer calling in regards to your Nicor Gas bill. I see your account qualifies for the new 10% rebate program. Please call me back to confirm your eligibility at ***. Please have your gas bill with you when you call me back. Again, *** *** ***. Thank you and have a great day.

I called Nicor Gas Company and they do not know anything abut this rebate program. This is a scam and I hope you can take care of it so people are not taken advantage of.

Type of a scam Utility

This company (letter head- Nicor Solutions) sent me a letter stating that Nicor Gas was changing their name to IL Energy Solutions and if I go to a fixed bill I would receive a $20 discount for 12 months and a $25 Visa Reward card. What made me suspicious was when I called they had no information on our account, asking me for my account number, that I gave, they did tell me my home phone number. Then I looked up Nicor phone number, totally different and the logo was also different. Upon calling Nicor, I was told that they are not changing their name. Although I did give the guy Charles at Nicor Solutions/IL Engery Solutions my account number but said I did not want to enroll in a fixed bill. When I called Nicor I asked them to mark our account to show that we do not want to change companies as a safe guard.
