i just got a letter from a company in Indiana named NB Financial in the city of Munster, stating i had a debt to bank of America in the amount of 7,699.91 and that they were doing the collecting, and that they would settle for 3,849.96 if i were to pay by today! i have never, nor will i ever, have anything to do with bank of America!

I have spent the last several years checking and working my credit report. This company sent a letter to my old address from my childhood (my grandparents home) stating that it was my final notice to pay of a debt on an old account that was closed over 7 years ago. They are trying to collect money on debt that has already been paid and on closed accounts. BBB states that Nelson Macwan (principal of this company) pled guilty in 2017 for criminal contempt. the letter they sent states I owe $3106.23 but they would be willing to settle for $1242.49. Please be aware and do your research before paying these scam artists.

They sent my elderly father a final notice to pay them a settlement for a credit card from 3 years ago. My father never established any credit until last year. I knew something was wrong when they sent the letter with only my father’s first name on it. I contacted the credit card company just to verify that he opened an account last year. Verified. This is a scam to scare people into sending free money to NB Financial.

This company has sent me multiple letters over the past 4 years, ever since I purchased my house (also, it is a multi-family home but they don’t specify a unit like a normal letter would). They claim they’ll settle for 40% of a debt to the First Bank of Delaware that I know I never had (I have a near perfect credit score and have always paid any debts and credit cards I have had on time).
