Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief

Samuel Stevens (case manager) called to offer assistance w/government aids by getting a modification for my mortgage to a lower interest rate. He asked for me to send him a hardship letter, copy of the mortgage statement and a recent bill and a signed letter allowing the company to speak to the mortgage company. He asked for me to email him the application and it did have my SS# to [email protected] I sent him the information and never heard back from them again. I called Steven and sent emails and he reach out to me again. I called the phone number and they never picked up again. I’m just afraid about what they are going to do with my information. I know it was a scam and me being a single mom with a high mortgage rate I was stupid and felt for it. I just don’t want anyone else to get scam by this people again.

This company is called Nationstar financial and is trying to confuse consumers with the company Nationstar Morgage. They are not. They are a third party affiliate company and they do not disclose this information when they contact you. They are hiding behind Nationstar Morgage company and I am not sure how they are able to do this. When you search Nationstar Financial the first one that comes up is Nationstar Morgage and that is all you will find unless you type in www.nationstarfin.com and they do have a website and at the bottom there is a disclaimer about not being affiliated with Nationstar Morgage, ect. It is very misleading. That is on purpose. They assume the average homeowner is not very smart and will not do their research. They are wrong!

I was contacted by Nationstar Financial in regards to my current morgage. I have had a remodification in the past eight years. They said I qualified for an offer and I fell for it. I worked with them for the month of January 2016. They had been in contact for that entire month and I felt they were legit, until they sent me an email with paperwork I needed to fill out and they were about to cash a closing cost check. At that point I had some questions about the paperwork. That was four days ago. I did put a stop to my checks. There is no one available to answer their phone, including the customer service line. That is totally unexceptable! No official corporate company does not answer their phones for four working business days.

i did talk to a person at Nationstar Morgage and they validated that they are not affiliated with Nationstar Financial and do not know how they can operate legally under that name.

I am convinced this is a scam and this needs to be shut down. It is not fair to take advantage of people in difficult situations. I will make sure this does not happen to someone else!
