I spoke with an AKC customer service agent on the phone today about a puppy we bought what was supposed to be a English Cream Golden Retriever on 4/23/17 that I was going to have as my therapy dog. The puppy came with an AKC registration form with a Sire and Dam and their registration numbers. Our vet confirmed that the puppy is not an English Cream Golden Retriever, he is in fact a Great Pyrenees mix.

Natalie was the girls name who sold us the puppy. She told us that her mom was Lonnie Morris (that name is the name of the breeder that is listed on the AKC registration form). She also said that Lonnie Morris lived near Sacramento, CA in a city called Roseville I believe. Natalie claimed she lived in Manteca. The ad for the puppies was on Craigslist- San Francisco, CA- East Bay. The ad had 9 puppies ready to find homes and they all were English Cream Goldens. It also had the pictures of 2 other English Cream Goldens claiming that they were the parents. Also, they said that the puppies were weaned at 5 weeks old and started eating solid foods so that is why they were ready. I thought that was skeptical but I just fell in love with the puppy when I met him so I wanted to give him a good home. I contacted Craigslist and I have not heard anything back from them. The ad has been deleted and Natalie has stopped all contact with us once we mentioned to her that we were afraid we were being scammed and things weren’t adding up. The breeders name on the AKC paper is most likely a real breeder and they are using her and her dogs names to scam people.

The dog we thought we were buying was a pure bred English Cream Golden Retriever. He was said to be 6 weeks old (born on 3/10/17) but the AKC reg. form said he was born on 1/10/17. Like I mentioned, our vet confirmed he is a Great Pyrenees mix and Natalie also used a forged health guarantee/contract from another breeder in North Carolina . Natalie also told us that the puppy had one puppy shot already and also 2 dewormers (she gave us the vaccination records). We brought a fecal into our vet and she confirmed that the puppy has roundworm. We are now treating that.
