Total money lost $6,490

Type of a scam Employment

This company sent an email stating they reviewed my resume off of ziprecruiter, an app I was currently using to find a job. After researching (and not sending my personal information other than my address) I was sent a check. Our backing account ended up -$6,490. The check was eventually returned and after many hours at the bank we were able to fix this. Thank God, the money was not spent. The interview was very extensive, to the point of even having to write a report. Extensive questioning that was sent for "review" by the superiors to consider before hiring. The job was to be a work from home until the new California office opened August 8th in Pasadena. The check was to cover the expenses of a laptop, programs (including tracking program to record my hours of work) printer, scanner etc. After receiving the check and the amount, I was a bit weary and did not move forward, only deposited it. 2 days later, my account was negative that amount and more. It left me with out anything as I had just returned from vacation.
