Total money lost $299.15

Type of a scam Online Purchase

I ordered what I thought were tickets to a Pantages show on a site called PantagesTheatre.org. I paid $299.15 for 2 tickets for a show for 8/10/2019. When I ordered, my seats weren’t assigned, which was strange. I had already entered my credit card information, but I tried to back out as something seemed strange. I got a message "Don’t quit now! You’re almost there!" Kept going and realized I paid for tickets that had no actual seats. When I called their customer service 855-223-9529, they told me the seats were assigned 2 days before the show. I never got actual tickets with a barcode, but kept getting emails that the tickets were coming. That’s when I saw [email protected] and called them asking where my tickets were. They kept saying they were coming in another email, but I never received actual tickets with a barcode allowing you to enter the theatre. That’s when I knew I had been scammed. There was also other suspicious stuff: tickets, if you did receive them, could not be printed. They said the barcode would not be visiable until a few hours before the show. One of the emails stated that "Stephane (I have no idea who Stephane is) has made you an offer of tickets." There was an option to accept or or decline. I had asked customer support if I declined the tickets, would I get my money back and he said no. At that point, I wouldn’t click on anything they sent me and called my bank. In the meantime, I decided to create a password to the Hollywood Pantages website to check on season tickets. There was an odd note on the left hand top corner that said something to the effect that "Stephane has made you an offer" It had the location and seat numbers. It gave an option to accept or decline and I did nothing. It freaked my out because it looked like they may have hacked into my account and the Hollywood Pantages site. I had filed my dispute with the bank. One day I received another email that said, "Stephane has cancelled their offer. You can no longer accept." Then I noticed that the odd message on my Hollywood Pantages account had disappeared. The bank dispute was pending, and the "Merchant", PantagesTheatre.org responded that they sold me tickets. I had never received them and told the bank that along with sending 20 pages of documents, emails and screen shots that I don’t think anyone ever read. I received a copy of PantagesTickets.org response to my dispute and noticed that there is now a third entity involved called ticketnetwork. I am ending my dispute with the bank because I just don’t want anything more to do with this scam outfit. I’d rather put it behind me as a lesson learned. I think there could be some criminal activity involved and I just don’t want any part of it.
