Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

A car pulled up to my house with an older woman who deposited a USPS Priority Mail Express envelope. When I opened it, it had a letter from "Mystery Shopper, Inc". There was a fake cashier’s check from TD Bank, with no address or phone number. Immediately I was suspicious. The fake check was for $2880.00 and the letter said they wanted a response by either email or text to let them know this was received. Never would I even consider replying to this scam. They said in the letter to deposit the money, sending $1250.00 each via money gram to their receiving agents and "evaluate any two money gram locations in my city". What a joke! Had I fallen for scam, the check would have bounced sky high and I would be out all the money. Many banking institutions have become savvy to these types of scams and I doubt my institution would have even cashed this check to out into an account. They are top notch when it comes to fraud.
