Type of a scam Online Purchase

A contact called me and stated they lost their bulldog and were wanting to get another bulldog and stated they found a website online but thought it seemed too good to be true. *** is the website. They stated that they called the number on the website, the person didnt answer but then sent them a text immediately that they missed their call. The owner would not call them back to discuss, just wanted to know if they wanted a puppy, male or female and then went in to discuss how they would deliver it "same day" even if by airline. That through up a few red flags, especially when the owner stated that he would just charge them half of the puppy until delivered and then they could pay the other half after they receive the puppy.

I started to look at their website and saw a lot of red flags. The pictures of the bulldogs on their site are the same ones if you were to google bulldog pictures, I found multiple that matched up. There are a lot of spelling errors throughout the website (yes, no one is perfect, but it is not professional). There is no location of where they are located. All puppies are 50% off. All of the pictures of the puppies have different background settings and the pictures are the same as the ones in google. The testimonials were all from other websites – one of which was a review of purchasing a Pekingese from Happiness Is Pets. I googled all of the reviews word from word and they all came from different websites.

I called the owner with the number provided on the website and there was no answer but within 5 seconds I received a text that stated "hello i got a missed call from this number do you want a pup?" I sent a message back asking them to call me. A few minutes later he called and asked if I wanted a male or female and how I was going to pay – western union or ? I asked if he could give me his name. He said he does not give his name out but then said last name was Silas. I asked if he would send me a copy of his business license or registration papers and he stated he would not do so. He then hung up on me.
