Type of a scam Debt Collections

Brandt Group Inc. notified me that I have a debt which must be paid in order to avoid legal action, including liens on personal property, levying of bank accounts, and judgment against my spouse. Furthermore, the company stated that the account would be added to my credit report following legal proceedings. They had information including my address, vehicle, and other identifying information. The following names were provided as employees of the company: Darren Murphy, Edward Blake, Anthony Rubio, Hal Davidson.

They stated that MSM Asset Group had sold my debt to this "Debt Acquisition Firm" and provided a contact number for MSM Asset Group, although no such company appears to be incorporated.
