Type of a scam Employment

Anna Post and Rachel Hurst- Henshaw reached me through a local wedding vendor group in the Seattle Area. I responded that I was interested in my entertainment company vending at their wedding venue launch- Eastside Wedding Affair for the Mountain Is Out Mansion. I paid the amount requested over a Shopify invoice. $200 plus Tax. I emailed them back about the taxes, stating I have NEVER had to pay taxes on a space rental for a vendor event. Rachel told me it was a glitch and that they would fix it. They asked for my logo in order for them to put it on "promotional materials and advertising." Someone emailed me back informing "all the vendors" of their name change to Kimball Creek Manor. They emailed me consistently over the next few weeks, with updates, etc. 3 days before the event, they cancelled it- siting a failed exhibition tent, which I was due to be inside- and cancellation of multiple vendors. They emailed us a PDF of options- roll out money to a new event August 19th and one to be announced in the future- or we could get our money back. We opted for a refund, which they never gave. On July 18th, a woman posted about the scam in another Facebook group I belong in and we found out then how many were affected.
