Was on internet when warning poped up that computer had been violated and you must call the number listed or your computer will be shut down, when calling the number someone who i thought was support answered and convinced me to let them remote into my computer. it was soon obvious she was looking for my personal information and i disconnected. dont know if she got me or not.

Type of a scam Tech Support

I was online and a screen popped up from microsoft claiming that my computer was infected. I called the number and the associate stated that the service would be free if I provided my bank account number and ssn so they could deposit $500 in my account to pay the $300 fee. The person also stated that the extra money would be mine to keep.
