I had a scam voicemail from Windows Security Department on July 13, saying that they were going to shut off my computer if I did not call 1-844-280-8979. I did not make the call. My computer is still working. The organization called my phone number from 855-999-1159

"Microsoft Security Department" calls a cell phone in my office stating that one of the computers that my company owns has viruses. I am fairly tech-savvy and this is a known scam that has contacted people in my office before. I immediately ask for a call reference number and a name; the man on the line immediately hangs up. First off the call came from a local Atlanta phone number but is obviously calling from a call center located elsewhere. Secondly when asked for any information outside of the representatives script, the reaction is to hang up.
