Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I have sold an online item recently to the person Michele Lane ( Most likely a fake name )

The item was sold 14K USD and I received a check from Michele of 55K USD

I was told to refund the excess amount of payment to him / her as soon as possible.

After 4 business days my bank have successfully verified that it was not a valid check and the check was returned. Then I contacted Michele about the return check and never got a replied back.

The item was not shipped and refund was not made fortunately. However, I did lose a total amount of 1400 CAD due to the exchange rate when the American check was returned. I am skeptical about this Michele Lane individual and as well as the email address. However I did received a bank account address that I was suppose to wire the money to as well as the shipping address.
