I was offered a data entry position from home for a salary of $27/hour. This was to be a part-time position for Meridian Healthcare and I was to receive a check for required supplies to perform the duties. I did receive a check in the amount of $4999.00 with instructions to cash the check, purchase the required supplies online, and then report to a woman with how the funds were used, when the funds were used, and the amount used. I was not given any other instructions on the use of the funds. The process began nearly 1 hour after posting my résumé online with indeed.com and then I received a text message asking me to enter an online job interview through Google Hangout to which I did. The first interview lasted nearly an hour asking very little from me other than date of birth, address and email address. The interviewer did not ask for my SS or any other private information. Upon entering the second interview I became cautious and asked the interviewer for a contact from the company she claimed to be representing so I may verify the job was legitimate. I immediately received a response of "I am not in a position to do that at this time" to which I replied, "We are done here" and ended the online interview. I received the check via USPS express mail two days later. I still have the check and do not plan to do anything with it. If for some reason the BBB would like this to help resolve this scam, I would be more than happy to send it you at my expense.
