I recently got a phone call (the number was blocked)from a man that said he was with Merchant Services, he said that new rules and regulations in Wyoming have been passed and he needed to go over my credit card services with him and that in Wyoming we are not allowed to charge fees or have processing companies charge us fees. I asked him for further clarification, and he immediately started by asking me questions on how I handle credit cards. I then said Look I am really busy you will have to call back another time. He then set up a time and date he would call me back to discuss the card services. I did this to hopefully get a a phone number etc. He has not called back. The whole call sounded bogus to me but I can see how someone may get suckered into this thinking its legit. Clearly this was targeted to businesses.

This company is very persistent. Calling business to offer a lower fee for merchant services. Does not take no for an answer and demands to speak to owner. Demands urgently that we need to update our merchant services account.

I have received one to two calls daily in the last two months from this scammer. Each time, it is a live person telling me they are from Merchant Services and that they can save me money… Each time I tell them I am not interested, please stop calling me, and take me off of their list. Each time they hang up on me when I speak the first sentence. Then they call back again.

I received a phone call on my new cell phone from a local number. I don’t yet have all my business contacts programmed. I answered and the recording gave me a choice. My whole intention when I "pushed the digit to speak with a representative" was to tell that person not to call anymore. I thought it was the same group whose numerous messages on my answering machine I had already missed. I thought “they” were calling to sign my company up for the ability to accept remittances by credit cards from customers.

Instead it was an offer to lower my credit card interest rate. I asked the man what card he was talking about. He said he represents all the major banks and could reduce my interest rate. He asked if I had merchant cards. He wanted to know how much, total, I had on the cards combined. Since I don’t use my cards that much I couldn’t easily answer. He badgered me until I gave him a figure. He then questioned me directly to answer "Yes" to confirm that figure. Once he received that information he told me that I would see my interest rate lowered to "2.something" on my next statement and hung up rather abruptly.

His abrupt hanging up of the telephone; my attempting to call him back and getting the message from the phone company that the number was not in service; his referral to my statement, singular when I have more than one card; and my memory of a scam wherein if you replied "YES" brought me here to tell my story. The gentleman was very persuasive, insistent, and spoke rapidly. The inflection in his voice when I asked for clarification of certain things was one of incredulity and disdain. This brief interaction cost me several hours of wasted time speaking with my credit card companies.

No one should not answer a telephone call if they do not recognize the number!

A Mr Robinson called to offer credit card processing at no cost and when I told him that I was not interested and to remove me from his calling list he outright refused and told me that he would call back to speak with the owner. I advised that I am the owner at which time he told me that I was not listening and said that he would not stop calling until he spoke to the owner. Caller began screaming and cursing at me. This has got to be a phishing scam as no real business would be so aggressive as to scream obscenities at me and refuse to stop calling me.

a person identifying themselves as Telitha called to inform me that NC passed a law reducing cost of Merchant Services to zero and wanted to confirm the amount of credit card transactions I have per day. No company info came up and the phone number is not attached to any business listed with BBB. I believe this is a phishing scam

Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

We received a "dispute notification" from "merchant services" for a fraudulent transaction through our credit card processing company. We are an established, ScamPulse.com certified company and never received a letter like this before. We contacted our merchant services provider and they had no record of a letter being sent out or a disputed transaction. When we contacted the company number listed on the mailing, two people tried to get our account information, saying we have multiple bank accounts and the disputed transaction was within this "other account". We immediately ceased the phone conversation.
