Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Attempted to sell a dining set on Craigslist and was sent a cashier’s check for the item plus $2000 for moving costs. The set is only $500 so this was the first red flag. Asked the buyer if I could get them on the phone and they would only discuss by text. The cashier’s check was made from an educational institution and was from 5 states away then my location. The buyer would not explain who the movers were. All red flags. I canceled the transaction.
