i had contacted vida garay on January 17th 2019 to book her for an event i had on March 16th she required a 50% deposit and because she was doing hair and makeup for my mom , my sister and i the deposit came out to 165 dollars including the 45 dollar travel fee i sent her the money Friday January 18th 2019 we set up times about a month later in February , I texted her march 4th to make sure we were still on the same page for the appointment she said and i quote "hello yes we will be there" a week later March 14th TWO days before the event and i quote "hi jacky hope all is well. unfortunately i am very sick and ive been in the hospital and i don’t think ill be released by this weekend. i apologize for such inconvenience . will be sending back refund of that deposit portion that you paid. again i apologize" and of course me and my family felt bad so i told her to feel better and asked her when was the soonest she could send me back my deposit i texted her again on the 19th because she didnt respond and i told her i needed my money and she did not respond until the 27th of march that she would sent over the deposit over the weekend Thursday April 4th i texted her and told her i had not received the money still no response i texted her again April 9th still no response 3 weeks pass April 11th and i texted her again and still no response she texted me back April 17th now a whole month after the event saying "hello sorry ive been in the hospital and had 2 surgeries i usually don’t have my phone on me i think my husband sent it already" witch he did not and i told her that she didn’t respond April 30th came around and still no responds since April 30th have sent her over 15 text messages and still to Thursday i have not received my money back sept.9th 2019 ,i contacted my hair dresser recently and asked if she knew about her she responded to and told me she has scammed over 100 women including myself for years and probably still is to this day i read her reviews on yelp and she tells everyone the same story and cancels on them before there events shes ruined multiple wedding days because of what she does to people i reported her on yelp with screenshot messages of our conversation if you would like to see them her yelp is Makeup by Vida she is located in ventura ca on 516 N A st, Oxnard CA 93030 i would love if you guys could help me in any sort of way to get my money and stop her from doing this to women thank you- jacqueline ruiz
