Type of a scam Online Purchase

I purchased something on the 18th of June and four days later on the 22nd was told my pkg is on its way. Now July 14th almost a month later I’ve yet to receive my pkg that was supposed to be in here 7-15 days. I never received a tracking number but when I emailed and asked when it would arrive they responded saying the pkg is being held up in a usps facility and has been there for 9 days. I was told they would contact the usps facility shortly. This left me feeling uneasy and skeptical so I googled reviews on this company and someone said this same exact thing happened to them even down to the reply and how many days it’s been held up. And that it’s been months and they have yet to receive anything.
