Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I received a check in a Priority Mail envelop at my work. The check was from NoveCare Outpaitient Rehabilitation which I have had no contact with or knowledge of. There was no letter included explaining what this was for and a call to the company revealed that they had no knowledge of me and did not issue the check. They said it was a "100% scam". I have no idea how they got my name and the address of my work. I have no idea what the purpose of this fake check is or what their intentions are.
